Recorded in a converted church in a military base near Carmel, California in 1955, "Concert By The Sea" is Erroll Garners widely acclaimed pièce de résistance. A mixture of originals, show biz, and pop standards are delivered with his unique enthusiasm and spontaneity. The recording also features Eddie Calhoun on bass and Denzil Best on drums, and although it was produced using relatively primitive sound equipment, Garners inventiveness and musical talent have ensured the album has become one of his most notable.
