Krause is een soort hedendaagse Lotte Lenya en werpt zich, evenals Ute Lemper, Marianne Faithfull en La Pat deden, op het Duitse klassieke cabaretlied uit het interbellum. De aanpak van producent/muzikant Greg Cohen ligt in de lijn van de projecten die Hal Willner ondernam met stilistisch verwante muziek. "This release focuses on Krause's interpretation of the music of Hanns Eisler, a great German songwriter and contemporary of Brecht and Weill (though less well known). As usual, the singing is stunning, and the instrumental accompaniment, which features significant contributions by Lindsay Cooper and Danny Thompson, is impeccable.
