"The Art Of Noise (AON) hit their stride with the release of this record, while showing their colors in the choices of material -- while the usual offbeat AON elements were present, so was "Peter Gunn," with Duane Eddy guesting on guitar. Another AON hit, "Legs," was present, as was the original version of "Paranoimia," enhanced in its single versions by the addition of routines from Max Headroom performed by Matt Frewer, who would later play the digital ding-a-ling on a short-lived TV series. The Frewer versions replaced the original on some pressings, including the original CD." (Steven MacDonald, Allmusic) Deze in 2017 verschenen deluxe editie, met in totaal liefst 35 tracks, bevat eerst het originele album zoals het in 1986 op vinyl verscheen, dus zonder Max Headroom in "Paranoima". Die duikt op CD al wel op in de toegevoegde single-edit en op CD2 in diverse extended versies van "Paranoimia". Ook zijn hier probeersels te vinden: een ware schatkamer voor liefhebbers van Fairlight-sample-experiment.

""Noise In The City" contains a complete concert from the Art Of Noise performed at Tokyo’s Nihon Seinenkan in August 1986. Featuring AON mainstays Anne Dudley and JJ Jeczalik with Dave Bronze, Simon Moreton, Paul Robinson, and The Noisettes, the album beautifully represents AON in its mid-1980s pomp on the "Visible Silence" tour. This album was made possible when Anne Dudley, JJJeczalik, and Gary Langan returned to Tokyo for live dates in 2017. They found that the 1986 concert had been recorded for FM radio broadcast and music journalist Ian Peel (who wrote the liner notes and had joined the band on the 2017 tour), tracked down the original multitrack master tapes to a vault in London."
