Tien jaar nadat het in première ging verscheen deze editie, met naast de oorspronkelijke studioopname een DVD met live-uitvoering én een CD-première: het aan Jenkins' in de Tweede Wereldoorlog gesneuvelde oom opgedragen "For The Fallen". "Karl Jenkinss work "The Armed Man" was released in 2004 and achieved massive success, particularly in the UK where it has gone Gold and spent 173 weeks in the classical chart. It is Jenkinss dramatic and thought-provoking Mass for the world that has emerged into the new millennium. The Mass is made up of 13 movements, beginning with the haunting opening entitled The Armed Man and ending with the beautiful Better is Peace. The live performance on DVD was captured at a special concert in St. Davids Hall in Cardiff on Remembrance Day, 11th November, 2004, accompanied by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera under the baton of conductor Adrian Levine. Karl Jenkins himself helped produce this DVD which brings his stunning score to life in Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 sound.

"On 21 October 1966, 116 children and 28 adults died when a coal spoil tip engulfed Pantglas primary school in Aberfan, Wales. Two years ago, I was approached to compose a work commemorating the 50th anniversary of the disaster. I was raised in Penclawdd, Aberfan was only 40 miles away; the disaster seemed local. Paradoxically, dealing with a subject that lies so deep in the soul of Welsh people was both harrowing and uplifting. It was made easier, more rewarding by Mererid Hopwood, the brilliant Welsh poet, who has written a remarkable libretto that was the peg on which I hung my musical coat. Cantata Memoria is both music and a poem. The text is multilingual: English, Welsh and Latin (from the Mass), while also referencing words in many other languages which symbolise how this memorial is at once both specific and universal. The first section deals with the disaster and its aftermath; the second moves from darkness to light, reliving memories and celebrating childhood." (Karl Jenkins in The Guardian)

"Het Requiem van Karl Jenkins werd in maart 2005 voor het eerst uitgevoerd in Engeland en kreeg overal lovende kritieken. Jenkins heeft het geschreven ter nagedachtenis aan zijn vader. Het werk is overwegend klassiek met muzikale invloeden uit het Verre Oosten. Jenkins heeft de vaste tekst van de Latijnse dodenmis gebruikt als basis. Daarnaast heeft Jenkins vijf haiku-gedichten toegevoegd. Haiku is een vorm van Japanse dichtkunst, geschreven in drie regels met resp. 5, 7 en 5 lettergrepen. De gedichten gaan over de dood en de "circle of life", het principe waarin het leven een opeenvolging is van geboren worden, sterven en weer geboren worden. Dit adembenemend muziekstuk duurt ongeveer 55 minuten en bestaat uit 13 delen. (bron: VU koor) Het tweede, kortere stuk op deze CD is In These Stones Horizons Sing. Het is een opdracht van de Welsh National Opera, ter opluistering van de inwijding van diens nieuwe operahuis in 2004. De solopartijen worden gezongen door Bryn Terfel, net als Jenkins afkomstig uit Wales.
