Hey, Why Don't We Play: Mac The Knife Real Slow And In B-Minor (2002)

"A great jazz album, full of varied & committed playing. The 2 tenor sax bandleaders contribute tunes; there are a couple of standards, one free number, one by Martino, a ballad, and a highly unorthodox version of Kurt Weill's evergreeen Mack The Knife - No one really remembers who made the suggestion it may well have been Billy Hart who said, "Hey why don't we play Mack The Knife real slow and in minor"... And that was how the album got its name." (Discovery Records)

Lady With A Secret (2004)

Every year, to celebrate Denmarks prestigious Jazzpar prize, a special group is formed using musicians from the international jazz scene. The 2004 quartet was divided between Danes: Jakob Dinesen (sax), Ben Besiakov (piano) and Americans: Eddie Gomez (bass) and Nasheet Waits (drums). Recorded at a series of concerts, this is music without a safety net and the combo frequently go out on a limb. Genuine live jazz at its best. (bron: Stunt Records) Vooral saxofonist Dinesen neemt regelmatig smachtend en scheurend z'n vrijheden binnen dit sterk spelende postbopkwartet.
