Revival (CD + DVD) (2016)

"The truly joyful noise of Cory Henrys B-3 needs almost no accompaniment on this live solo album of gospel, jazz, and R&B classics, which were recorded and filmed with an audience at the Greater Temple of Praise in Brooklyn, N.Y. As a member of Snarky Puppy and an in-demand sideman, Henry plays any keyboard, but the B-3 was his first instrument, and these performances display his great love of the mighty organ. By turns soulful, church-y, playful, restrained, and virtuosic, Henry takes full possession of well-loved songs, beginning with gospels like He Has Made Me Glad and Precious Lord, and then he is joined by vocalist Jeffrey White on Old Rugged Cross. Secular songs range from Coltrane's "Giant Steps" to The Beatles' "Yesterday" to Stevie Wonder's "All in Love Is Fair," but we can't stress enough how much Henry makes these his own. The very nature of the instrumentation mostly just B-3 and a little percussion takes each tune to a different place from the start." (Barbara Schultz, Keyboard Mag)

James Williams Meets The Saxophone Masters (2020)

"Pianist James Williams picked three of the top tenor players of the 1990s (Joe Henderson, George Coleman and Billy Pierce) to participate in a jam session-type set. The sextet (with bassist James Genus and drummer Tony Reedus) performs six selections, all but one of which are over 9 minutes long. Each of the saxophonists have plenty of solo space and many chances to trade off. The material is generally pretty basic, with two blues, a runthrough on rhythm changes, the folk song "Calgary" and a pair of standards being performed. The tenors are quite aware of each other's presence so the playing is of a consistently high quality even if no real explosions occur. An enjoyable set." (Allmusic)

You Got What It Takes (1995)

"Eén van dè zangers in de jazz van de negentiger jaren jaren was Kevin Mahogany. Van hem kwam een voortreffelijke cd uit, getiteld: You Got What it Takes. Daarop wordt hij begeleid door klassejazzmusici als tenorsaxofonist Benny Golson, pianist James Williams, bassist Michael Formanek en drummer Victor Lewis. Onder de 13 tracks zijn klassiekers als Just in Time, Sophisticated Lady, Yardbird Suite en God Bless the Child. James Williams schreef Old Times Sake en Mahogany zelf BG's Groove. De cd opent overigens met een duet van Mahogany en zangeres Jeanie Bryson." (Muziekweb
