In 1989 hoorde avant-garde saxofonist Marion Brown de groep Jazz Cussion tijdens een optreden in een club. Hij was zo onder de indruk van hun Latin-stukken dat hij spontaan het podium beklom en meespeelde. Jazz Cussion was destijds een groep van vijf muzikanten uit Hannover. Zij combineerden bebop en cool jazz met Latin en funk. Dit is hun debuutalbum.
