Guidum (1994)

"This album is a monster collection of BASSic emotions... Abraham shows his stuff here, and his associates, Alex Acuna, Justo Almario and Abe Jr. hang right with him, lick for lick. Thumping, popping, fingering, tapping, chords, monster riffs, tight drum/bass lines, tasty melodies, funk, bebop... you get a taste of everything. (Breakfast at Tiffany's will make you want to brush up on your music theory) Man, how I would have loved to see these songs performed live! As a 20+ year bass player who grew up listening to Stanley Clarke, Nathan East, Jaco Pastorius, Nathaniel Phillips, Luis Johnson and others, I can say with confidence: this album is no joke! Buy it, pop in in, turn it up loud; these guys had real fun with this one, and you will too!"(Amazon)

For My Friends (1995)

"Greg made two solo albums. In 1981 he recorded a live album, SUPER LIVE AT THE BAKED POTATO, with two members of the group Toto, Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro, along with Pops Popwell from the Jazz Crusaders. In 1986 he recorded a studio album on Head First Records, FOR MY FRIENDS, featuring Carlos Vega, Michael Landau, Abraham Laboriel Sr. and Luis Conte that went top 5 on the Billboard Jazz Charts". Earth + Sky (2003)

"Employing two keyboard players, John Novello and John Beasley, as well as drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, saxophonist Katisse Buckingham, and bassist Abraham Laboriel, Summers creates a body of work that looks through jazz, rock, and folk forms and is technology based while also using organic rhythms and atmospherics. Summers, unlike so many superchopper guitarists, is a melodist whose lyricism is inescapable in virtually everything he plays. Hence the effect of these tunes is chimeric, whether they begin with gorgeous, simple harmonic lines that are reminiscent of nursery rhymes (such as "Now I'm Free"), feature complex hypnotic guitar lines that are fully charged both modally and rhythmically (as in the title track), or are atmospheric 'film noir' pieces (such as "I Choose You"). Summers has utilized his jazz chops to stunning effect here, in that he allows his guitar to be an architectural focal point of an ensemble rather than as the centerpiece of the music itself." Justo Almario & Abraham Laboriel (1995)

"Justo Almario and Abe Laboriel have been jazz hermanos for twenty five years. But besides their common Latin heritage (Almario is from Colombia, Laboriel from Mexico) and affinity for everything from blues to rock to South African and tropical sounds, they also share a mutual appreciation for all things spiritual. Despite the fanciful diversity of their logical, long-awaited duet collection Justo Almario Abe Laboriel, it is their love of the Lord which ties their musical beliefs into a collective whole. While Laboriel allows himself a few trademark bassaerobic solos, he never puts his ego in front. Almario does everything he can; tenor, alto, soprano, flute, even clarinet-depending on the moodswing of the moment. The collaboration is about much more than simple Amazing Grace. All-stars like Greg Mathieson, Harlan Rogers, Luis Conte and Paul Jackson add their own flairs to all the different pop, jazz and all variations. The result is one of the most inspirational albums of the year." (Allmusic).

Live In Montreal With Special Guests
