In 2013 verscheen een kerstalbum van Paul Carrack samen met de SWR Big Band and Strings. Deze keer stort de zanger zich op traditionele swing, afgewisseld met eigen composities en songs van Ray Charles en Nick Lowe. "Another Side" werd live opgenomen in de tv studio van de SWR in Stuttgart.
Na het verschijnen van "Winter Wonderland" in 2005 stond Paul Carrack enkele malen op het podium met de SWR Big Band, met een programma in kerstsferen. Daaronder zowel echt kerstrepertoire ("A Child Is Born", "Jingle Bells", etc) als songs die goed passen bij het seizoen. daaronder het van Mike + The Mechanics (uit de tijd dat Carrack daar leadzanger van was) bekende "The Living Years" en John Lennons "Imagine". Deze uitgave bevat live-opnamen uit 2011 en 2012, aangevuld met nieuwe studio-opnamen.

This decades-old orchestra provides not only superb backing for the legendary alto saxophonist, but also features several talented soloists joining Woods throughout the concert. Drawn from jubilee concerts at Stuttgart's Theaterhaus in January 2015 to mark the 75th birthday of great German bassist Eberhard Weber, this is a remarkable live album incorporating big band arrangements of Weber compositions as well as striking new music from old friends Pat Metheny and Jan Garbarek. The concerts centered around 'Hommage', a specially commissioned 35-minute suite by Pat Metheny, with whom Weber had played and recorded back in the 1970s. Featuring Metheny, the SWR Big Band conducted by Helge Sunde, Gary Burton, bassist Scott Colley and Danny Gottlieb on drums, this extended composition is built upon recordings of solo improvisations by Weber, subtly orchestrated by the guitarist. The programme is opened by Jan Garbarek, Weber's associate of many years, with powerful and inventive soprano sax improvisations over loops of Weber's bass. Eberhard played with the Jan Garbarek Group from 1982 to 2007, and their essential compatibility is evident once again in these 'Résumé Variations'. (bron: ECM)
"De Duitse trompettist en pianist Joo Kraus was van 1987 tot en met 1992 lid van de Duitse formatie Kraan. Daarnaast heeft hij in de studio gewerkt met Pater Herbolzheimer, Charlie Mariano, De-Phazz en Tina Turner. Voor Public Jazz Lounge wist hij de SWR Big Band te strikken en neemt hij zelf de vocalen voor zijn rekening. De arrangementen (van bekende jazz- en popsongs) en het spel van Kraus en de bigband staan als een huis. Of "Gimme The Night" van George Benson en "Getaway" van Earth, Wind & Fire" in het Duits al of niet in de smaak vallen? Waarom niet? Over het geheel een aangenaam relaxte cd met de sound van de jazzdance uit het begin van de jaren negentig. (GR Muziekbank)
