"In this period Dion had fully evolved from a rock & roll star into a more mature singer/songwriter. His records during this time were inconsistent in quality and widely varying in style, from the acoustic folk-rock of 1970s "Sit Down Old Friend" to the strange Phil Spector-(over?-)produced sessions of 1975. It gives listeners a reasonable look at what he was up to in these years, when he was no longer a commercial force, but was very much reaching out toward different avenues of self-expression. The fine voice is still totally intact, but the songs (much of them self-penned) are sometimes given to unarresting mildness, and some are too-blatantly James Taylor-like tunes. Amidst of it is a good share of worthy material, like his famous autobiographical drug addiction-inspired "Your Own Back Yard"; the solo acoustic "I Don't Believe My Race Is Run"; the tastefully orchestrated "It All Fits Together"; and the Spector-produced cover of Gerry Goffin and Carole King's "Only You Know"." Opmerkelijk sterk album uit 2000 van zanger die al in de jaren '50 bekend werd met z'n doo-wop-band the Belmonts. Nog steeds heeft hij een kraakheldere jongensachtige stem. De stijl is nostalgisch: soms doo-wop, maar vooral rock 'n' roll.
Concert uit 2003 van deze goed geconserveerde zanger (geboren in 1939) die rond 1960 uitermate populair was. Eerst met z'n doowopgroep Dion & The Belmonts, daarna, begin jaren '60, ook solo. Hij voert met een aanstekelijk rock 'n' rollende band (inclusief honkende sax) zowel Belmonts-hits (o.a. "I Wonder Why" en "Runaround Sue") als solo-hits (zoals het later door Status Quo gecoverde "The Wanderer" en het later door Donald Fagen gecoverde "Ruby Baby") uit.
