"Motörhead heeft tijdens zijn carrière een flink aantal covers gespeeld, denk bijvoorbeeld aan "Louie Louie" dat jaren op de setlist stond. Ze verschenen af en toe op singles, later stond met regelmaat op een LP of op thematische compilaties. "Under Cöver" compileert een aantal van deze nummers. De vroegste zijn "Cat Scratch Fever" en "Hellraiser" van "March Ör Die", waarvan de laatste niet echt een cover genoemd mag worden aangezien Lemmy mede verantwoordelijk is voor het nummer. De jongste nummers zijn "Sympathy For The Devil" van het laatste album "Bad Magic" en het niet eerder uitgebracht "Heroes" van David Bowie uit dezelfde sessies. Luister ook eens naar Twisted Sisters "Shoot em Down". Elf nummers totaal en dan te bedenken dat ik nog genoeg covers in de kast heb om een deel 2 te maken. Daarna moet het dan maar klaar zijn. "Motörhead maakt al 40 jaar hetzelfde album. De verschillen zitten hem vooral in de mate van inspiratie. Een aardige cover of een verrassend bluesdeuntje brengt de albums op smaak. Ditmaal maakt de band iets moois van "Sympathy For The Devil" van The Rolling Stones. De mannen van Motörhead hebben nog genoeg venijn in de stramme lijven om het net zo gemeen te laten klinken als het origineel. Zoals iedereen heeft kunnen lezen, kampte zanger/bassist Lemmy de afgelopen jaren met fysieke ongemakken die hem bijna fataal werden. Het vrijwel live opgenomen "Bad Magic" klinkt echter verrassend vitaal. "Victory Or Die", "Thunder & Lichtning", "Fire Storm Hotel" en "Shoot Out All Of Your Lights" zijn robuuste rocksongs waarbij de zuurstoffles en het infuus op veilige afstand blijven. Het melancholieke mijmerliedje "Till The End" weet zelfs te ontroeren. Zo'n puik album afleveren terwijl de in memoriams al geschreven waren: dat kan alleen Motörhead." "De iconische Motörhead-frontman Lemmy Kilmister mag dan al enige jaren ter ziele zijn, dat betekent niet dat er geen nieuw Motörhead-materiaal verschijnt. Doorgaans zijn dat prachtige heruitgaven, luxe boxsets of speciaal vinyl. Sporadischer zijn de uitgaven met nieuwe beelden en opnames. Louder Than Noise... Live In Berlin valt in deze laatste categorie. Het betreft een concertregistratie in beeld en geluid van de show die het drietal Lemmy, Phil Campbell (gitaar) en Mickey Dee (drums) gaf op 5 december 2012 te Berlijn in de aanwezigheid van twaalfduizend duidelijk hoorbare fans. De set is gevuld met veel publieksfavorieten (Overkill, Metropolis, Going To Brazil) en kent ook een aantal songs van recentere datum zoals I Know How To Die. Op instrumentaal gebied is alles dik in orde: goed geluid, degelijk spel en zoals gezegd is het publiek duidelijk hoorbaar zodat het livegevoel goed naar voren komt. "There have been dozens of Motörhead compilations, but the first one remains definitive. Released in 1984 as a gap-filler -- for Motörhead were regrouping -- "No Remorse" compiled two-dozen songs across two discs (latter-day editions adding a good serving of bonus tracks, too). Many of the band's best songs to date are here. There are also four new recordings that were cut exclusively for No Remorse: "Killed by Death," "Snaggletooth," "Steal Your Face," and "Locomotive." These four songs were cut by the newly instated four-piece lineup that would go on to record "Orgasmatron" (1986): guitarists Michael Burston and Phil Campbell, drummer Peter Gill, and of course, bassist/vocalist Lemmy. These new recordings make "No Remorse" more than a standard greatest-hits package. It also rounds up early single and EP material. "Though they are usually pegged as heavy metal, Motörhead are actually a rock & roll band in the purest sense. And this aptly titled release reminds you that despite their outrageous speed and ear-shattering distortion, Motörhead tunes have much more in common with Chuck Berry than Black Sabbath. Unfortunately, the songwriting here is rather uninspired for the band's standards, and the one-two punch of the phenomenal title track and the amusing "Eat the Rich" (the album's only true highlights) are over too soon. Most of the tracks ("Blackheart," "Stone Deaf in the USA," "Dogs," et al.) are just plain dull, and while "All for You" is a lousy attempt at a commercial single, the downright silly "The Wolf" probably could have done without its Monty Python-esque intro." "On the surface, Motörhead appear to be trying something new with Orgasmatron, bringing in producer Bill Laswell to put a slightly different slant on their signature sound. Laswell does beef up the mix with added sonic detail, which works to particularly good effect on the title track -- the densely layered production helps transform the song and its simple riff into a chugging psychedelic noise-fest. Still, even if "Orgasmatron" is somewhat erratic, most fans will find a hidden favorite or two. Sanctuary Records reissued the early Motörhead albums in 2005/2006 as remastered double-disc deluxe editions. The "Orgasmatron" volume includes a bonus disc including live versions of "On the Road" and "Steal Your Face," taken from the "Deaf Forever" 12" single, and an alternate take of "Claw."
